Bamboo Countertops

Maybe it's just me - but I love bamboo countertops at home.

Whenever you are redecorating you kitchen, one of the biggest things that stands out is the counter.

There are so many choices for you to pick, from a hard wood, to granites and marble, and also to laminates.

But a great choice for your new kitchen is definitely bamboo countertops.

There are many factors that you will have to decide on, like how you want your kitchen to look, how much do you want to spend, and are you trying to be kind to the environment.

There are a lot of decisions that you will have to make, but take your time and study up, then make your informed decision.

If you want to have a very unique, one of a kind cooking area, this bamboo counter is right up your alley.

Bamboo plants being used as a kitchen surface is a relatively new thing, so if you get one soon, you are likely going to be one of the first people in your area sporting one.

It is a great addition to any nice, quiet, simple kitchen that needs a touch of new life to it.

These bamboo countertops are not too modern though, so if you are looking for a new, edgy, futuristic countertop, this might not be for you. However, bamboo offers a variety of styles and stains that can be utilized to create the exact look that you are searching for.

Because bamboo growth is very rapid, counter tops made from bamboo can be very reasonable when compared with other materials such as granite. But at the same time, this is not the cheapest material to use; it takes a lot of work and knowledge of the bamboo craft to create a stunning and flawless countertop.

So when you get this material, realize that you are paying for a sustainable wood that was crafted into a countertop with time, patience and love. The prices of this aesthetically pleasing kitchen counter are still very reasonable and in the same price range as other woods.

When a bamboo forest is being grown by someone, they are generally growing it for a specific purpose. Maybe one section of the forest is growing for countertops, and one for cabinets, my point is that people do not just go into the jungle and start carelessly cutting down trees and leaving the land ravished.

Getting bamboo countertops is a great way to be green and care for the environment. By buying green products you are sending a message to product manufacturers everywhere that you do not want to be part of the deforestation of the land.

There are two key notes to remember for caring for your new countertops. One is that you should not put anything that is very hot on top of it. They are not scorch resistant and you can leave a burn mark if you are not careful.

The other thing to know is that you will have to care for your kitchen counter with oils every now and then. But you will have to care for any type of counter that you go with, so that should not put you off to the idea of going bamboo.

Going green in the kitchen is a great way to help the earth. Bamboo is an amazing resource and you can appreciate that every day by using a countertop made of bamboo.
